Despite all of the reports circulating to the contrary, Matteo Moretto claims AC Milan do not consider Robert Lewandowski a top target.
On Sunday, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of a ‘race’ for Lewandowski between Milan and Juventus, the two big rivals in Italian football who are also battling for a top four spot. The paper stated that the Pole’s agent is due in Italy for talks before the two teams meet at the weekend.

Milan are looking for a new starting striker ahead of next season, and it is easy to see why they might want the Pole. He has scored 565 goals across spells Borussia Dortmund (103), Bayern Munich (344) and Barcelona (118) and could fascinated by the idea of a last dance in Italy, as Luka Modric was.
Lewandowski ‘not a top target’
In an update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel posted last night, Matteo Moretto discussed the future of Lewandowski and those insistent links with a potential move to Milan.
“Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona is expiring, and he’s negotiating a contract extension with them at a low price, but there’s a very good chance that these will be his final months as a Barça striker. A final decision hasn’t been made yet, but the indications point to that path,” he said.
“The Pole is approaching 38 but continues to score a lot of goals. He remains a top-class striker, even if he’s played a little less in recent months. Lewandowski has been linked several times with Italian clubs, but he also has options in the MLS, and several clubs in Europe are interested in him.
“As far as Milan are concerned, from what I understand, there’s no unanimous consensus within the Rossoneri management regarding Lewandowski’s name. We’ll see if anything changes, but as of now, given his age, salary and other factors, he’s not at the top of Milan’s list. Then, in the market, anything can change.”
