Wayne Rooney has predicted the exact results of Arsenal and Man City's remaining PL fixtures…

The Premier League title race took another twist on Sunday afternoon when Manchester City defeated Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

A month ago, it looked as if the title would be Arsenal's after they built up a considerable gap over City and the rest of the Premier League.

However, Arsenal have looked vulnerable in recent weeks, allowing City to close the gap. The Citizens are now just three points behind the Gunners in the race for the title and have a game-in-hand.

Pep Guardiola's side will leapfrog Arsenal and go to the summit of the table should they beat relegation certainties Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday evening.

Wayne Rooney has looked at both side's remaining fixtures, and he thinks he knows exactly how the title race will play out.

He has backed Arsenal to win each of their remaining five Premier League games. He thinks they'll beat Newcastle United, Fulham and Burnley at home, as well as West Ham and Crystal Palace away, to end the season on 85 points.

The 40-year-old has tipped City to win five of their remaining six Premier League matches. He thinks Guardiola's side will beat Burnley, before slipping up at the Hill Dickinson Stadium against Everton.

He has then backed them to beat Brentford, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. That won't be enough for City, though, as he's predicted they'll finish on 83 points, two behind Arsenal.

Wayne Rooney: Arsenal Are Still Favourites

Despite Arsenal's struggles in recent weeks, Rooney thinks the Gunners are still favourites to end their long wait for a Premier League title. He said, per the Metro:

"This title race is not over yet, I still feel like there are some more twists and turns to come. It is obviously going to be tight but City have got one more game to try to win, so I still have Arsenal down as slight favourites.

"I’ve been in this situation myself, where you need to win all your games for the title. You look at your games and you think well we should win this one, or that one, but it never pans out that way.

"From now until the end of the season it is just going to be down to which team keeps their composure the best – that’s who will win it."

Rooney has also called on Arsenal fans 'to be better'. He said on the Wayne Rooney Show:

"I saw them booing the team off the other day [against Bournemouth]. Arsenal have been brilliant all season, and they've hit a little bad run of form.

"They need to understand how much the fan support means to the players and how much it can help you.

"The players will have put so much work in day in and day out on the training pitch to be in the position they're in now, so when you lose a game and you get booed off, that can affect players. I think for Arsenal to win the league, the Arsenal fans need to play their part."
