Wesley Fofana’s reaction to being subbed was yet another example of his childish attitude, and Liam Rosenior admitted he’s had to apologise for it.

When he was taken off on Saturday night against Man U, Wesley Fofana stormed down the tunnel, shrugging off coaches and ignoring his manager.

It was the latest example of his bad attitude, and it got enough attention that Liam Rosenior was asked about it in his press conference today. Of course, the coach defended his player.

Rosenior defends Fofana reaction to sub – but says he apologised

“Wes is a very emotional character in a good way. He’s not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve,” Liam Rosenior said.

“I think he could have showed his emotion in a better way and I’ve spoken to him about that. Wes apologised for his reaction.”

Of course the manager is going to play down the incident, but by admitting that Fofana apologised and saying his player could have showed emotion in a better way, he’s saying what we all know – that sort of childish behaviour is totally counterproductive, and given how often we see it from Fofana, unacceptable.

Injury news was a key feature of this press conference – there are three major doubts for tomorrow’s game and Rosenior had an update on all three.

Cole Palmer was frustrated at Alejandro Garnacho for his poor defending on the goal that Man U scored on Saturday.
