Fabian Hurzeler confirms one of Brighton's star players is fit for Chelsea clash

Fabian Hurzeler and Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to inflict more misery on Chelsea this Tuesday.

Chelsea are on a run of four consecutive defeats in the Premier League following their 1-0 loss to Manchester United over the weekend.

In contrast, Brighton’s form of late has been really good. They fought from 1-0 down to draw 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur, with Kaoru Mitoma scoring one of their goals.

One clean sheet in the Premier League and 35 goals conceded in all competitions under Rosenior 😳

Fabian Hurzeler confirms Kaoru Mitoma is available for Chelsea clash

In a boost to Brighton, it looks like Mitoma will be fit enough to play against Chelsea, which is bad news for the Blues.

Mitoma was taken off in the 75th minute of Brighton’s draw with Spurs, but Hurzeler has now confirmed that it was nothing serious and just a bit of cramp.

According to the Seagulls manager via The Standard, the winger is “available” for Tuesday night’s showdown.

Chelsea have had their own injury issues recently. Joao Pedro missed the 1-0 defeat to United, while Estevao Willian had to be substituted after seemingly pulling his hamstring.

Estevao was in tears in the dressing room as a result of it. He would have been gutted to be withdrawn from such a huge game.

Kaoru Mitoma’s record against Chelsea

Mitoma will be quite pleased with his record against Chelsea. As per Transfermarkt, the 28-year-old has faced the Blues eight times, won five of those encounters and lost three.

In terms of individual performances, Mitoma has scored a couple of goals and provided one assist, so Chelsea are going to have to be wary of him on Tuesday if he does play.

The Blues obviously have their own threats such as Cole Palmer. However, his form has not been great of late.

Hopefully, he can step it up at the Amex Stadium; otherwise, it could end up being another long night for Liam Rosenior’s side. Whatever happens, Champions League qualification looks like it is gone after everything that occurred over the weekend.
