Arsenal Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber&2 Others

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has remained coy on the fitness of key player Bukayo Saka.

It has been confirmed that the winger has an Achilles injury, but when asked how long the England international could be sidelined for, Arteta said:

“Bukayo is out, that’s for sure. He’s just starting to do some stuff, so let’s see that progression, how quickly we can go through it, and then wait, but at the moment it’s not about that.”

Saka has not played for Arsenal since starting the Carabao Cup final last month. He has missed the last five matches in all competitions, including the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Jurrien Timber

The fullback has not been available since leaving the pitch before halftime with an ankle injury during the 2-0 win against Everton over a month ago.

Speaking prior to the loss to City, Arteta suggested that some of his injured players were “close” to making their return to action.

However, it is now clear that he was referring to captain Martin Odegaard, who started at the Etihad on Sunday.

There is no certainty at the moment that Timber will be back in contention to face Newcastle this weekend.

Expected Return Date – Unknown
