Rosenior talked about teenage forward Estevao, who limped off in the first 20 minutes of the United game, on the club’s official channels after the loss at Stamford Bridge:
“He was crying at half time; it was really devastating for him.”
The manager went on to say that the Brazilian teenager had hurt his hamstring while trying to score one-on-one, which was especially bad news for Chelsea’s struggling attack, as he had been so important to them lately.
Brighton, on the other hand, come into this game feeling good after Georginio Rutter’s equaliser in the 95th minute at Tottenham. This result gave Fabian Hürzeler four straight wins in all competitions. With a fourth straight win over Chelsea in all competitions, the Seagulls would actually move ahead of the visitors in the standings.

Liam Rosenior is cautiously hopeful about bringing back Joao Pedro, the 24-year-old Brazilian forward who missed the loss to United because of a thigh injury but should be ready to go back to his old home. Enzo Fernandez, who left Stamford Bridge late with what the manager thinks was just cramp, should also be able to hold down the midfield.
The picture is much worse on the treatment table, where Estevão joins Reece James, Filip Jörgensen, and Jamie Gittens on a growing list of injured players. The Brazilian teenager injured himself in the first quarter against United and will now have to sit out for a while.
Levi Colwill is getting some mild support after playing 60 minutes of a behind-closed-doors game. He is in the last stages of his ACL recovery and will play in a friendly game with the Under-21s on Friday. However, the trip on Tuesday is likely to come too soon for the England international.
