Brighton vs Chelsea in the Premier League from the Amex Stadium - Tuesday, 8pm
For many Brighton fans, the fixtures against Chelsea mean just that little bit more.
The Seagulls host Liam Rosenior's sixth-placed team on Tuesday night at the Amex Stadium and victory would see Fabian Hurzeler's men leap-frog the Blues in the table.
In terms of money spent, Chelsea are under-performing in the Premier League this term and another poor performance at Brighton would increase recent pressure on Rosenior.
Recent transfer history between the two clubs always adds a little extra spice to the this fixture. Chelsea have sent almost £300m Brighton's way over the past few seasons as the likes of Marc Cucurellla, Moises Caicedo, Robert Sanchez and Joao Pedro have all swapped the south coast for west London.
Former Albion coach Graham Potter - along the majority of his backroom staff - also moved for a short stint at the Bridge, as have a number of key backroom staff members.
Despite that, Brighton could still finish higher in the Premier League this season.
That would certainly give fans plenty of bragging rights and it would also vindicate many of the major decisions and deals that the club have sanctioned over the years.
The money received from Chelsea have allowed Albion to reinvest into their squad and it has more than covered the cost of the Amex Stadium and the impressive training facilities - the Elite Football Performance Centre - based at Lancing.
Consistency is key for Hurzeler
Although this fixture means a great deal to the fans - and also to many within the club - Hurzeler insists it's business as usual for him and the players.
“No, I think we have a similar approach. a consistent approach towards every game. I think that's just noise," Hurzeler said to Sussex World.
"That's noise from outside that some people can't control as a player. That some people can't control as a coach. So therefore consistent approach, consistent messaging, focus on us.
"Focus on our performance and then we try to get a positive result for our fans."
Hurzeler’s Pedro problem
The succession planning has been impressive at Brighton but replacing Brazilian striker Pedro has proved more problematic.
There has been a heavy reliance on veteran Danny Welbeck this season as Georginio - despite his goal at Tottenham last Saturday - has struggled. The youthful Charalmapos Kostoulas is still finding his feet in the Premier League after his £30m arrival and Stefanos Tzimas sustained an ACL injury earlier this term.
"I wouldn't say tougher than expected," said Hurzeler when asked if he found it tough to replace Pedro after his £60m move to Chelsea.
"Because we all know he’s one of the best strikers in the Premier League, one of the best players in the Premier League who left the club.
"You can't replace him one-to-one. But what we showed is a great team togetherness on this. We stuck together, we replaced him with different goalscorers.
“We have a lot of different goalscorers, so that's very positive."
