Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG submit offers to 28 G/A La Liga striker ahead of summer move

Arsenal, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing 26-year-old Argentine international Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid this summer.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Julian Alvarez. The three European heavyweights are eager to bolster their offensive units by signing a striker in the upcoming transfer window, and they have submitted offers to the 26-year-old Atletico Madrid centre-forward.

Julian Alvarez and his Atletico Madrid journey so far

Julian Alvarez has established himself as one of the world’s best strikers since joining Atletico Madrid from Manchester City in a surprise big-money move in August 2024. However, the 26-year-old has also been prone to bouts of inconsistency, and he endured a topsy-turvy ride in the 2025/26 season.

Nevertheless, the Argentine international has scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 47 outings across all competitions thus far in the 2025/26 season. Meanwhile, Alvarez’s improved form in recent weeks has raised his stock further, with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

A man in demand

Arsenal may dip into the market for a versatile attacker in the summer transfer window. While Mikel Arteta has three strikers in his squad, Gabriel Jesus’s long-term future is uncertain. Additionally, Viktor Gyokeres has impressed in fits and starts since arriving from Sporting CP last summer. So, Alvarez has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Julian Alvarez has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Robert Lewandowski is in the twilight of his career. Additionally, he has entered the final months of his contract. So, Barcelona must plan for life after the veteran Polish striker, with Alvarez reportedly emerging as a top target for the Blaugrana.

As for PSG, Ousmane Dembele has been exceptional as a striker since the 2025/26 season, and his exploits have relegated Goncalo Ramos to a squad role. However, it behoves Les Parisiens to sign a recognised striker this summer to continue the evolution under Luis Enrique.

The latest report has revealed that Alvarez has “three strong offers” from Arsenal, Barcelona, and PSG. However, the 26-year-old Argentine international “has no huge desire to return to the Premier League” this summer. So, Barcelona and PSG may be the front-runners to sign the former Manchester City attacker.
