O'Reilly reveals Man City plan to beat Arsenal to Premier League title

Challenge: Nico O’Reilly

Arsenal Football Newsletter

Nico O’Reilly has issued his Manchester City team-mates a challenge as their Premier League title race with Arsenal goes to the wire.

City closed the gap on the Gunners to just three points on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Mikel Arteta’s side at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s men can leapfrog their rivals into top spot with a victory at Burnley on Wednesday, with City holding a game in hand on the league leaders.

O’Reilly starred at left-back at the weekend, providing the assist for Erling Haaland’s decisive goal in the second half.

Speaking afterwards, the young England international said: "We're hungry for it.

“We want it, we just need to keep going and stay focused. There's not much thinking to do, we've got to go out there and put 100 per cent effort in every game.

"It's massive [against Burnley].

“All the games for the rest of the season are massive games - and we need to go and win them.

“Put in good performances, score goals and we'll see how it goes.

“We need to go into Wednesday, like we did on Sunday. The same mindset."

Arsenal do not play again this week until Saturday, when they host Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.
