Ronaldinho has shed a bit of light on his decision to join AC Milan from Barcelona back in 2008 in his Netflix documentary.
A player who needs very little introduction, Ronaldinho won the FIFA World Cup, the Champions League, then Copa Libertadores and the Ballon d’Or among many other honours. His style of play encapsulated the ‘Joga Bonito’ style of Brazil at the time, with entertainment important.

Having joined Milan earlier that year, he famously scored a header in his first Derby della Madonnina to secure a 1-0 victory over Inter on 28 September 2008. In 2009-10, he finished top of the Serie A assist charts with 14, and was part of the 2010-11 title-winning team even if he left mid-season.
‘A team I’d always loved’
Ronaldinho is the star of a Netflix series titled ‘Ronaldinho, the One and Only’. As part of it, he commented on the move that he made to Milan in the summer 0f 2008, where he quickly became a fan favourite.
“I had achieved all my dreams in Barcelona and saw the possibility of joining another great team in a different league,” he said.
“Milan was the chance to fulfil a dream I’d had as a teenager, to play for a team I’d always loved. It was wonderful, a truly amazing time because that group was made up of champions, the Galacticos of Italy. It was a happy time and one that I still remember with great affection.”
