Manchester United are ready to go to battle with the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona as they all eye up Palmeiras teen sensation Eduardo Conceicao.

The 16-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise and, despite his tender age, is becoming one of the most sought after players on the planet. United themselves are readying a bid of £34million as they seek to jump to the front of the queue and land Conceicao.

They have begun discussions but aren't the only club to have contact with Palmeiras as City and the Spanish giants both look to win the race for his signature. Barcelona are thought to have an advantage due to the pull of sporting director Deco, who has held direct contact with Palmeiras’ academy co-ordinator, as part of their approach.

City themselves have a positive history with the Brazilian side. They previously negotiated with them to sign Gabriel Jesus early in Pep Guardiola's reign and then last season struck a deal for defender Vitor Reis.

United themselves may believe that their recent rise could tempt any potential signings. They're set to offer Champions League football and, despite their obvious struggles over the past decade, remain a huge pull for players.

Palmeiras themselves are hoping to maximise their profits and are holding out for a hefty fee. The club’s expectation is to land a minimum of £34m, potentially rising with add-ons. They've already batted away an offer from Newcastle, worth £21.5m plus £12.9m in bonuses, reports the Daily Mail.

Conceicao's future could rest on whether midfielder Allan, 22, who is a regular, remains at the club. They recently turned down a £30m offer from Napoli but, if he does eventually leave, then Palmeiras may be more inclined to hold onto their teenager, whose value is likely to increase further.

Conceicao's representatives are preparing for a move and have met with several European clubs. His family has travelled across countries including England and France to assess potential destinations as they ready to leave their homeland.

Conceicao's recent performances in a regional under-20 cup called the Copinha, where he scored four goals and provided three assists in seven appearances, has furthered his profile. He has also taken centre stage as Brazil advance to the latter stages of the South American under-17 championship.
