Gary Neville says he thinks the same thing about Chelsea every time he watches them

Gary Neville has been very critical of Chelsea following their 1-0 loss to his former side Manchester United on Saturday.

It was their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, with Liam Rosenior’s men not winning a top-flight game since the beginning of March.

That match was a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, where Chelsea really impressed. However, they have not come anywhere close to replicating their performance at Villa Park since then.

What does Liam Rosenior have to do to end this terrible run in the Premier League?

It's Brighton next!

Gary Neville claims Chelsea always look beaten

Unsurprisingly, many pundits, including Neville, have been left far from impressed with what they have seen from Chelsea of late.

Discussing the Blues on The Gary Neville Podcast, the ex-United defender said: “Chelsea look, to be fair, they look dead on their feet, don’t they? They look like they’re beaten every time you watch them.

“They’re not in a good vein of form at all. So yeah, that was a bad weekend for Chelsea, a really bad weekend.”

After losing to United and watching Villa and Liverpool secure victories, it really was a bad weekend for Chelsea.

They are now seven points behind fifth place in the Premier League table, leaving them with a very slim chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

The Club World Cup winners have another tough game next as well, taking on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Ahead of the fixture, manager Fabian Hurzeler gave a fitness update on Kaoru Mitoma, who has caused Chelsea problems in the past.

Liam Rosenior suggests this Chelsea team are not capable of mounting comebacks

In terms of Chelsea constantly looking beaten, Rosenior would be inclined to agree with Neville.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Brighton, Rosenior told BBC Sport and other outlets that his side need to score first in order to give them a chance of winning the game.

Clearly, Rosenior has little confidence that this Chelsea side are capable of mounting a comeback when going down.

You would have to fear for the Blues if they do go down 1-0 to Brighton at the Amex Stadium. With the kind of form that the Seagulls have been in, you would back them to then go on and score another.
