As we approach the end of the season, many of Arsenal’s loanees are nearing the conclusion of their temporary spells elsewhere.
What, though, will lie in store for them once they return to Arsenal?
**Karl Hein**
Hein’s loan spell at Werder Bremen is effectively already over after a thumb injury ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
Despite having previously shown his ability during other loan spells and on the international stage for Estonia, it has been a frustrating season for the goalkeeper, who has made just two appearances.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer and after eight years at the club it seems likely that he will move on permanently.
**Jakub Kiwior**
One of Arsenal’s best performing loanees this season, Kiwior has amassed 35 appearances for Porto across all competitions.
Porto look set to win the league title and are still in contention in the Taca de Portugal but were knocked out of the Europa League by Nottingham Forest at the quarter-finals stage.
Kiwior is set to join Porto permanently in the summer, with the loan deal having included an obligation to buy.
**Fabio Vieira**
Another loanee who has often performed to a high standard this season, Vieira has relished the responsibility he has been given for Hamburg.
In total, the midfielder has scored five goals and registered six assists in all competitions, although he has also been sent off twice.
It is anticipated that Vieira will depart permanently this summer and Hamburg could be amongst those looking to sign him.
**Reiss Nelson**
Nelson has again found consistency difficult to come by while on loan, with injuries affecting his spell at Brentford.
The winger hasn’t started a Premier League game this season, although he did score and provide an assist against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.
Nelson still has a year left on his Arsenal contract but a permanent departure may be best for all concerned.
**Ethan Nwaneri**
Nwaneri joined Marseille on loan in January and scored on his debut against Lens.
However, the 19-year-old has been unable to hold down a regular place in the starting lineup, with the departure of manager Roberto de Zerbi not helping his cause.
The England U21 international remains hugely talented but Arsenal face a decision over his future this summer, especially as he will be eager to play regularly.
**Louie Copley**
Copley received his first experience of senior football as he headed on loan to Crawley Town in the Winter transfer window.
The midfielder had a spell out injured but has made eight appearances in League Two and also registered his first senior assist.
Another loan move, perhaps to a League One club, could be on the cards next season but firstly he will be hoping to help Crawley avoid relegation.
**Ismeal Kabia**
Kabia went into this season having made just one senior appearance but he has gained a wealth of experience at Shrewsbury, playing over 40 games and helping the club to maintain their League Two status.
Previously mainly a winger, he has featured in numerous positions and also got back into the starting lineup despite a managerial change.
The 20-year-old could potentially secure a permanent move elsewhere following his impressive loan spell.
**Lucas Nygaard**
It has been a somewhat strange season on loan for Nygaard in the Danish third division, especially as Brabrand had a long spell without games. He has also been benched for the club’s assistant manager, Henrik Lindhard, at times.
He has still gained some experience of senior football, however, making seven appearances so far.
There are still several games left for Brabrand in their relegation group. Nygaard will return to Arsenal thereafter but the goalkeeper could be a candidate for a permanent departure.
**Will Sweet**
Another player who hadn’t previously been on loan, Sweet joined National League South side Dagenham & Redbridge in the Winter transfer window.
Sweet has been in and out of the side but he has made nine appearances in total and scored against Chesham. There has been increased focus on the club in recent weeks after investment from KSI and the appointment of Andy Carroll as interim manager.
Centre-back Sweet will hope to experience further senior football of some description next season.
**Charles Sagoe** **Jr**
Sagoe Jr’s loan spell at Kalmar runs for the rest of this calendar year, so there is still some way to go until his future will be assessed.
At Arsenal he mainly played as a winger but he has been used as a striker for Kalmar and has started all three of their Swedish top flight league games so far.
The 21-year-old previously had loan spells at Swansea and Shrewsbury.
