Alejandro Garnacho continues to come under intense criticism for both his Chelsea form and his on-pitch attitude, and now Paul Scholes has urged him to leave Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho, 21, failed to show why Chelsea signed him from Man United against his old side on Saturday with another poor showing. Yet, Liam Rosenior believes the Argentine winger is in good form currently.
Clocking up 39 appearances in all competitions, Garnacho has managed just eight goals and four assists this season. The Argentine has shown glimpses of good form, but has failed to prove why he cost £40m.

Regularly, the former Getafe and Atletico Madrid academy player’s attitude is questioned. Now, Scholes has had his say on the player signed from his beloved Man United, and even suggested his next club.
Paul Scholes tells Alejandro Garnacho to join Atletico Madrid
Nicky Butt worked with Garnacho at Man United while the club’s academy manager, and Butt blasted Garnacho as a “disgrace”. It says a lot, given it comes from someone who knows him off-camera.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Good, The Bad and The Football, Man United icon Scholes said that gaffer Rosenior cannot handle a player with Garnacho’s attitude and urged him to join Atletico Madrid.
“Looking in from the outside, and I don’t know him as well as Nicky, but the impression you got was that the only person Garnacho cared about was himself. He’s only 21, someone might take a chance on him.

“Hope that he finally grows up. He was United’s biggest threat for a long time. But it’s my biggest hate in football, only interested in himself. Only cares about himself. If you lost 8-1 and he scored, he’d be happy.
“I don’t think the manager has got the stature in the game to control Garnacho, either. I don’t think the characters are there at Chelsea. He should go to Atletico Madrid,” Scholes continued, on Garnacho.
“That will be the only place that sorts him out. I think he’s that type of signing for them. They are a £30m, £40m club and they’ll think Diego Simeone can control him. If Diego Simeone can’t, no one can.”
Which clubs have been linked with Alejandro Garnacho?
It would be an interesting move. Garnacho would certainly have a level of respect for Simeone given they are from the same country, and Simeone’s stance in the game. But Simeone won’t stand for bad attitudes.

It would be make or break for Garnacho. Perhaps that is what he needs. Whether Atletico are interested in signing Garnacho remains to be seen, especially having joined Man United from Atletico’s academy.
But the club linked with Garnacho the most so far this season is Argentine giants River Plate, with talk of a potential loan back to his home country. This summer certainly promises to be an interesting one.
