Marli Salmon has signed a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal which will see the teenager commit professional terms with Arsenal when he turns 17.

Salmon has heavily impressed coaching staff behind the scenes, football.london understands, despite his young age and has trained regularly with the first team alongside fellow starlet Max Dowman. The defender made his senior debut this season in the UEFA Champions League against Club Brugge, coming on as a late substitute in the win in Belgium.

He then went on to earn a first senior start against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup, helping the Gunners to a 2-1 win. Able to play right-back or right sided centre-half, Salmon is seen as a long term defensive option for the club.
