Arsenal forward Blackstenius signs new deal

Arsenal forward Stina Blackstenius has signed a new contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this afternoon.

The 30-year-old Swedish international attacker joined Arsenal on a free transfer in January 2022 after leaving OBOS Damallsvenskan club BK Häcken at the end of the previous season. Blackstenius has gone on to make 152 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions in which she has scored 64 goals. The forward has won the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, UEFA Women’s Champions League and two Subway Women’s League Cups with Arsenal.

Blackstenius is a valuable member of the Arsenal squad and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for an extended period.

After signing her new deal at Arsenal, Blackstenius said “I’ve been here for a few years now and it really feels like home being here. I have enjoyed playing with this team, for the club.

“I want to thank the fans for coming here and for the support you give us week in, week out. Every game, it’s so appreciated.”

Arsenal continue their season when they play host to OL Lyonnes in the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
