Manchester City face their latest must-win as they take on Burnley, knowing a win will take them top of the Premier League. Sunday's win over Arsenal has taken them to within three points off the league leaders with an inferior goal difference of one.

Pep Guardiola's side travel to Turf Moor to face relegation-threatened Burnley on Wednesday, a place that has been a happy hunting ground in recent years. Wolves became the first team to have their drop to the Championship confirmed after West Ham United's goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Monday.

For City, Wednesday is an opportunity to continue their momentum after the crucial win over their Premier League title rivals on Sunday after Erling Haaland's decisive goal. With the Gunners seemingly enduring a tough period, City can heap pressure on their North London rivals.

Here, we round up their latest fitness concerns:

Rodri limped off during the weekend win during the 2-1 win over Arsenal at the weekend. The midfielder went down clutching his groin in the latter stages of the win before being replaced by Nico Gonzalez, who could restore his place in the starting 11 due to his absence.

Guardiola expects Wednesday to be too soon for the Spaniard. He said: "I think for tomorrow he will not be ready.

"We'll see in the next games, [in the FA Cup] semi-final against Southampton or in 12, 13 days against Everton."

Potential return date: Southampton - FA Cup semi-final (April 25) or Everton (May 4).

Ruben Dias

Ruben Dias is expected to remain sidelined for the trip to East Lancashire after suffering an ankle injury at the beginning of April. The Portuguese defender has been absent from the starting 11 since being brought off at half-time during the defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Guardiola confirmed during Tuesday's press conference that the trip to the strugglers will come too soon for Dias. understands he is not likely to be back for the rest of the month, as reported last week.

Guardiola aid: "He is not yet ready."

Potential return date: Everton (May 4).

Josko Gvardiol

Josko Gvardiol is another Manchester City who faces a race against time to feature again before the curtain falls down on another Premier League season. The Croatian was forced off with a broken leg during the home encounter with Chelsea on January 4.

He has since undergone surgery and the hope would have been to have him back in training before the campaign concludes but the likelihood is that he will be back fit for pre-season.

Potential return date: Pre-season 2026
