The difference Joe Cole has noticed when he's been to Stamford Bridge under Liam Rosenior

Liam Rosenior might be somewhat relieved that Chelsea’s clash against Brighton tonight is actually away from home, after the reception he received from the home support on Saturday.

When Rosenior approached supporters after the game on Saturday night after a 1-0 defeat to Man United, he was received with boos and angry gestures from fans. The sympathy for Rosenior has gone.

Little surprise, after six defeats in the last seven games. Chelsea have lost their last four league games without scoring a single goal, the first time Chelsea have done that since 1912, a huge 114 years ago.

What does Liam Rosenior have to do to end this terrible run in the Premier League?

It's Brighton next!

Now, Chelsea go to Brighton as the Blues look to avoid a fifth straight Premier League loss, and hope to score a goal for the first time in more than six hours. Joe Cole has noticed something under Rosenior.

Joe Cole worried about Stamford Bridge atmosphere

At least for Rosenior, Chelsea won’t return to Stamford Bridge until May 4 after facing Brighton tonight and then Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final on the weekend. But Cole is concerned by the atmosphere.

Recently, fans have become aware that the club have failed to sell north of 40,000 tickets for a while, and on The Dressing Room podcast, Chelsea icon Cole says the atmosphere feels worryingly different.

“Have you been to Chelsea recently? Have you been to Stamford Bridge recently? You’ve been to a game, haven’t you?”, Cole said to Carlton Cole and Wayne Bridge. He continued: “There is a different feel to it.

“It doesn’t feel the same. Like, it’s not the excitement or the fans. The fans are doing their thing, they’re trying. They need to feel like there’s a team being built to what they’re used to, to win with personality.”

Last season, Enzo Maresca guided Chelsea to the Champions League while winning the Conference League and the Club World Cup. Perhaps evidence enough to suggest Todd Boehly’s plan was working.

Are YOU starting to lose patience with Rosenior?

The sympathy is gone…

But it shows a lack of leadership, organisation and footballing insight within the Chelsea hierarchy, so much so that they could not foresee Chelsea struggling this season and that the squad lacks experience.

There is a small chance that Chelsea can achieve Champions League football. That, and an FA Cup trophy, would be a successful season. But anything less than that and it proves Chelsea have gone backwards.
