Marcus Rashford could be returning to Manchester United amid reports of Barcelona’s interest ‘cooling’ over a permanent deal to sign the England international.
Last summer, Marcus Rashford completed a loan move to Barcelona, marking his second loan departure from Manchester United following a stint at Aston Villa.
Rashford started the season brightly, but has since faded, with Raphinha being the clear starter under Hansi Flick.
Barcelona have an option to keep Rashford by signing him for £26 million at the end of the season, with the United academy graduate keen to make his move permanent.

Barcelona cool Marcus Rashford interest
It appears as though Rashford has been played along by Barcelona into thinking he would be kept beyond this season.
Only recently did Barcelona president Joan Laporta claim he wanted to keep Rashford, but now The Athletic suggest their interest has since cooled.
It is reported that the Champions League quarter-final tie against Atletico Madrid did him no favours, with the England international subjected to criticism in both legs.

Meanwhile, Rashford is understood to have wasted a ‘golden opportunity’ to prove himself over the past month following Raphinha’s latest hamstring injury. He failed to do that, and it also comes down to the cost of the deal, which is now deemed infeasible for Barcelona.
Sources close to Rashford claim Barcelona have not yet communicated any decision over a permanent deal.
