**Chelsea**boss Liam Rosenior recently faced questions about Alejandro Garnacho and the growing transfer links. He had a clear chance to end those doubts. But, he chose a different route that only added fuel to the situation.
As per reports, the Blues’ head coach said, “I’d like to know the source of the report. These reports can come from anywhere. Garna is 21 years old. Garna is someone who has special qualities when he is in a good place and he’s in good form. And my job is to help him reach those levels.”
Managers often shut down false rumours quickly to protect the dressing room. But, this response felt more like a sidestep than a firm rejection. It left a gap for doubts and in football, that can quickly turn into headlines. Reportedly, the west London side is open to selling Garnacho this summer.
Now, the Premier League club is at least considering its options. Although, the Argentine winger remains a young player with potential. But, potential alone does not guarantee a long-term place at a top club.

Rosenior’s claim that Garnacho is in good form raised doubts. That is especially when recent performances suggest otherwise. That is not decent for an attacking player in a top side. His expected goals contribution also sits below several teammates. This shows a gap between effort and result.
Criticism has not been limited to fans or teammates either. There have been questions regarding his signing as well. Some say that the player has never consistently met top-level standards. That may sound harsh, but it tells the tough nature of elite football. Here, patience is often short and expectations are always high.

Chelsea’s plans for the winger ahead
Chelsea’s situation makes this rumour even more believable at the moment. The club has been actively reshaping its squad. At the same time, Rosenior’s comments suggest the door is not fully closed. He spoke about helping Garnacho reach his best level, which hints at internal belief. That balance between backing a player and keeping options open is common in modern football management.
