Fabrizio Romano’s update has landed at a tough moment for Chelsea. The club has lost six of the last seven matches in all competitions. Now, the 1-0 defeat against Manchester United has increased the issues around Liam Rosenior. But, Romano points at internal support and not a sacking plan.
As per reports, the Italian journalist said, “So they need to change as soon as possible in terms of results, in terms of impact.” The Blues sit sixth on 48 points, seven behind Liverpool in fifth, with five Premier League matches left. Rosenior still has full backing from ownership at the moment. Meanwhile, the reports around Diego Simeone have not moved beyond rumours.

The west London side have also failed to score in four straight PL games as well. This is their worst league run since years. That number alone shows why the need has emerged around tactical and selection changes. This comes as the club still believes the coach can respond.

Poor results raises bigger questions for the manager
The big issue is not only results, but poor form. Chelsea scored seven against Port Vale, but have not scored in four league matches since. Since Rosenior arrived in January, the team has played good football, but the dip in performances has been huge.
Some inside the club reportedly accept structural changes are needed this summer. Now, the upcoming Brighton game is seen as a key test. That is especially with the Seagulls winning the last three meetings. If the Blues fail again, a big call in management is very likely.
