Tim Sherwood is a bit of a clown – so you know Chelsea have to be really bad when he’s making pertinent points.
After watching the Blues’ battering at Brighton tonight, he summed up the whole sorry situation at the club pretty well:
“Chelsea really have no answers. It’s bordering on embarrassing,” the pundit said on Sky Sports.
“They went at five to the back, didn’t work. As soon as they lost the second goal, they downed tools. It looks like they’ve given up.”
And don’t forget, this was before the Blues conceded the third goal.
Sherwood tells Chelsea to sign more Brighton players
Sherwood also pointed out the irony that Brighton, the team this ownership have raided more than any other, are the ones who beat us twice this season:
“A team they have cherry picked for years are about to do the double over them. Now they need to go back into the market and pick a few more Brighton players. Maybe a new manager,” Sherwood joked.
“I said it would be a difficult job for any manager the way the club is run. But this is not good enough. Embarrassing. An absolute footballing lesson is what Brighton have given to Chelsea this evening.”
In other news…
Chelsea were “pumped” by Brighton according to pundit Chris Sutton, who had some pretty harsh home truths much like those that Tim Sherwood did.
Before the game, Liam Rosenior gave an update on two of his injured players who are missing tonight.
