Chelsea owners given easy decision after damning Liam Rosenior and Enzo Maresca stat

The pressure continues to increase on Liam Rosenior after Chelsea’s latest defeat to Brighton, and more damning evidence of the club’s drop off since the sacking of Enzo Maresca has come to light.

Chelsea fans chanted more abuse at Liam Rosenior as their woeful Premier League run continued at the Amex.

The Blues dropped to seventh in the table after their defeat, and the boss was let down by a poor individual performance from Wesley Fofana and the rest of the defence.

Chelsea fans, if Liam Rosenior was sacked before the FA Cup semi-final, who would you want to see in charge?

Liam Rosenior produces Chelsea stat worse than Enzo Maresca ever managed

The attack struggled greatly in the absence of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, and they hardly created any chances for Liam Delap and Pedro Neto.

In fact, according to OptaJoe, Chelsea registered just 0.04xG in the first half of their most recent defeat, the lowest they have for a single half this season.

Things get even worse though. This total is actually lower than any half the club played during Enzo Maresca’s time in charge of the club.

Many of the reasons for this can be put down to the system Rosenior used during the first half. Chelsea started the game with a back five, and just Delap and Neto in attack.

There was a real sense of Chelsea players not knowing how to react. Enzo Fernandez stood motionless for several minutes in front of the away fans after the full-time whistle.

The Blues’ chances of qualifying for the Champions League have now realistically gone, and their only opportunity to recover some success from the campaign would be triumph in the FA Cup.

Chelsea continuing to make history under Liam Rosenior… for all the wrong reasons!

Chelsea face Leeds in the semi-finals on Sunday, however will struggle to create anything if they do not have Pedro and Palmer fit and firing in the frontline.

On one hand, Rosenior can point to the star power that wasn’t available. As well as the aforementioned duo, Estevao Willian, Levi Colwill and Reece James were all unfit to feature.

However, the work rate of the players suggested that they are fed up of the man giving them instructions, and a change at the helm is now a case of when, not if.
