Liam Rosenior says‘goodbye’to Chelsea players ahead of confirmation he will be sacked

Liam Rosenior has reportedly said his goodbyes to the Chelsea squad and staff as a result of their 3-0 defeat to Brighton, as we await official confirmation he has been sacked.

Rosenior was on the end of more abuse from Chelsea fans as they watched their side be completely dominated by Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Rosenior was seething after the game, and for the first time put a lot of blame on the players for their part in it all, much to the annoyance of Trevoh Chalobah.

Liam Rosenior said ‘goodbye’ to Chelsea players after Brighton defeat

Fans have been calling for the manager to be removed for a while now, and they look to have finally got their wish after the current boss said goodbye to his players following defeat to Brighton.

That’s according to Simon Phillips, who stated that Rosenior didn’t even complete a post-match team talk, and some sources believe the decision has been made to part company already.

He said: “SPTC Sources heard that he basically pretty much said ‘goodbye’ to all his staff and his players at the end of the game and didn’t even do a post-match team talk – he just headed out.

“Further to this, he’s completely lost the dressing room. We’ve heard that this really hit home to him last night. The players do not trust or respect him as a coach, and some of them have even been laughing and joking about him within their circles. There’s no way he can stay now, and the club know this. I believe his position has become untenable.

“The ‘issue’ I believe is that they are deciding on who will take the reins, if they can find anyone permanent now, or do they get an interim to see them through.

“The latter is most likely, and sources have told us that Callum McFarlane is in line to be our temporary manager until we find the next permanent one. Chelsea have not been contacting or moving on any other managers, so there is literally nobody lined up to come in. They wanted to keep backing and believing in Rosenior, but it could well be that they cannot do anything else but drop that desire now.

“I have not yet heard conclusively that Rosenior HAS been sacked. Some sources believe he has been. But I’ve not had full clarification on this yet. There is every chance that he still gets the Leeds game to ‘save’ his job for now, but again, nothing is conclusive yet.”

Chelsea’s last shot at saving any form of success from this season is the FA Cup, and there is currently no faith from supporters that Rosenior can lead them past Leeds in the semi-final.

Chelsea fans, if Liam Rosenior was sacked before the FA Cup semi-final, who would you want to see in charge?

Chelsea players have given up on Rosenior

Rosenior admitted after the game it looked as if the players weren’t fighting for him anymore, a situation that is usually too much to come back from.

Pedro Neto visibly ignored instructions from the manager during the game, and overall the situation now looks untenable.

At the time of writing, we still await official confirmation from the club, however it is not looking good for Rosenior, and the BlueCo project which decided he was the best man to take over from Enzo Maresca.
