Club duo flying to Manchester City for player talks – Battle on with rivals for signing

Fenerbahçe are ready to get serious in their attempts to sign Bernardo Silva when he leaves Manchester City this summer.

Fotomaç report that the Turkish club have ‘begun efforts’ to add Silva to their squad when he becomes a free agent.

Manchester City visit

According to their information, Sporting director Devin Özek and football branch manager Ertan Torunoğulları will travel to England after the Galatasaray derby on Sunday.

They plan to hold a first meeting with Bernardo Silva’s agent to discuss a move this summer.

There is also a plan in place to beat rivals Galatasaray to his signature. That will include offering the Manchester City star a salary above what Galatasaray have already offered. There is no mention of the figures at this point.

But Fenerbahçe are getting serious about the Manchester City midfielder. Their planned trip to England to meet his agent is a testament to that.

Fierce European competition

The question is whether the Turkish side can win the race for the 31-year-old given half of Europe appears to be lining up for him.

The Manchester City star remains an attractive option, particularly on a free transfer. And several European sides are already making moves behind the scenes for him.

Juventus have been keen for months, while Galatasaray have been making overtures as well. Indeed, a report last month had Bernardo Silva with a €15m decision to make between the two clubs.

That has, seemingly, sparked Fenerbahçe into action. They don’t want to let him head elsewhere in Türkiye without putting an offer on the table themselves. Thus, their directors will be travelling to England this week to speak to his agent and state their case.

It will add another layer to an already developing transfer battle. Silva will have plenty of suitors and even more offers when he leaves Manchester City on a free transfer this summer.
