Update issued over Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior with FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United just days away
Doubt has been cast over Liam Rosenior’s future as Chelsea head coach just days away from their FA Cup semi-final showdown with Leeds United.
On Sunday (April 26), the Blues and the Whites will lock horns at Wembley for a place in the final of the prestigious competition.
Leeds are heading into the game on the back of victories over Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, both of which have eased relegation fears.
The mood at Chelsea, however, is low after a run of five consecutive Premier League defeats. The latest was inflicted upon them last night (April 22) by Brighton & Hove Albion, who were comfortable 3-0 winners on their home turf.

Liam Rosenior latest
According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, talks are taking place between senior leaders at Stamford Bridge.
Posting on X, he said: “Chelsea’s sporting leadership are now discussing what to do next. They are taking stock of the situation after last night’s shocking performance at Brighton.
“Although the club have backed Liam Rosenior up to this point, football is ultimately a results business. It’s too early to say whether Rosenior will definitely be in charge for the Leeds game on Sunday. As things stand, he remains in charge, but the situation could change. Chelsea players have the day off today.”

Potential FA Cup semi-final impact
Leeds fans may be licking their lips at the sight of such disarray and uncertainty, yet there is always a chance Chelsea could be galvanised by the turbulence.
In the event a new head coach is installed at Chelsea, the Blues could benefit from the so-called ‘new manager bounce’.
Ultimately, Leeds cannot afford to place too much focus upon developments down in the capital. Once they have faced AFC Bournemouth tonight (April 22), much of the attention will be on recovery and their own plans to hurt Chelsea.
