'Wow': Jody Morris shocked at what he's been told about Rosenior's Chelsea

Jody Morris has highlighted a damning statistic that lays bare Chelsea’s current crisis, admitting that even he is shocked at what has unfolded under Liam Rosenior.

The situation involving Liam Rosenior and Chelsea has turned into a crisis. Since his January appointment, a promising start has evaporated into a run of just one win in eight matches, with the squad’s Champions League hopes now effectively dead, and even a European place is no longer guaranteed.

This freefall stands in stark contrast to the era of Jody Morris, who represents a more harmonious time in the club’s recent history. As Frank Lampard’s assistant, Morris was instrumental in integrating a golden generation of academy talent into the first team amid transfer restrictions.

His deep connection to the club’s roots provided a bridge between the fans and the dugout, a connection that currently feels entirely severed under Rosenior’s struggling regime.

Chelsea fans, if Liam Rosenior was sacked before the FA Cup semi-final, who would you want to see in charge?

Even Jody Morris is concerned about Liam Rosenior

Taking to his personal X account, former Chelsea assistant Jody Morris has shared a stat under Liam Rosenior that has left him shocked.

‘*Wow, I was just told that since Enzo scored in Paris, it’s been 0-16 against high-level opposition (obviously not including the Port Vale win)…, and should easily be in the early twenties to nil just with this Brighton game.*‘

This is correct. Since Enzo Fernandez scored in the second half against Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League tie, the Blues have conceded 17 goals and scored zero outside of the FA Cup.

Chelsea need to seriously consider Liam Rosenior’s future

Chelsea must seriously consider Liam Rosenior’s future after a catastrophic run that has seen the club equal a 114-year-old low. Following the 3–0 defeat at Brighton, Chelsea have now lost five consecutive league matches without scoring a single goal, their worst such streak since 1912.

Rosenior has overseen a total collapse in form, winning just once in his last eight games and recording the second-worst points-per-game ratio of any permanent Chelsea manager this century.

With the Champions League dream dead and a clear disconnect forming between the manager and his players, the hierarchy faces a defining decision to prevent further stagnation.
