Leroy Rosenior questions one of Liam Rosenior's Chelsea players and wants action

Leroy Rosenior has questioned Chelsea’s recruitment strategy following the signing of Alejandro Garnacho, arguing that there is a better solution.

Alejandro Garnacho‘s recent displays have summed up Chelsea‘s current position, characterised by a lack of finishing and zero quality.

In the 3–0 loss at Brighton, Garnacho was largely anonymous before being substituted, which was almost a replica of his Manchester United display, where he lost the ball 15 times.

Even Paul Scholes has been calling for Chelsea to sell Garnacho this summer in an attempt to claw back some of the £40 million they paid for him.

And it seems as if Liam Rosenior‘s Dad agrees.

Leroy Rosenior wants ready-made signings at Chelsea

While speaking on Premier League Productions, Liam Rosenior’s Dad has suggested that the Blues shouldn’t have signed Alejandro Garnacho and need ready-made players this summer.

“You’re looking at the recruitment process. I mean, the reason they signed Garnacho was, again, they were looking for potential.

“We’ve seen United go and they go and get Cunha and Man City go and get ready-made players.

“Is that what Chelsea needs to do now? Go and get some ready-made players to go into that side to really try and compete at the top end of the table.”

Chelsea fans, if Liam Rosenior was sacked before the FA Cup semi-final, who would you want to see in charge?

Chelsea in desperate need of proven quality

Leroy Rosenior’s assessment highlights a flaw in Chelsea’s recent recruitment: an obsession with potential over proven pedigree. The owners have gambled heavily on youngsters like Alejandro Garnacho, whose eight-goal season has largely come against lower-league opposition.

Chelsea desperately needs established figures who can navigate high-pressure moments, restore defensive structure, and provide the maturity that this current, exhausted squad so clearly lacks.

Thiago Silva is the prime example. He joined for absolutely nothing and proved to be invaluable during his time at Stamford Bridge. It’s not always about making a profit.
