Leeds United’s hopes of playing a lacklustre Chelsea side managed by Liam Rosenior have been dashed, with the manager confirmed as sacked at Stamford Bridge.
All eyes tonight are on how Leeds fare away to Bournemouth in the Premier League, looking to extend our gap over the bottom three before the rest of our rivals play.
However, you can’t help but look forward to the FA Cup semi-final, where we travel to Wembley to face Chelsea.
Chelsea confirm decision to sack Liam Rosenior before FA Cup semi-final v Leeds United
A damaging defeat to Brighton last night for Chelsea looked to put Liam Rosenior on the brink. A run of defeats without scoring in the Premier League has seen the Blues tumble out of the Champions League places, and potentially out of European qualification altogether.
Rosenior slated his players’ lack of effort during the 3-0 loss at the AMEX last night. Now, that’s proven to be his final act at Stamford Bridge.
Our FA Cup semi-final opponents have now confirmed Rosenior has been dismissed from his position at the club this week.

That sack decision now leaves U21 head coach Calum McFarlane in charge of the clash at Wembley. He took the reins on a temporary basis earlier in the season after Enzo Maresca’s exit. And, he secured a last-minute draw away at Manchester City in the process.
Leeds United blow as Liam Rosenior dismissed from Chelsea manager job?
It’s hard to see how that affects Chelsea’s chances at Wembley against us. However, those players got him the sack, as much as he wasn’t cut out for a job of that magnitude.
The fact that the players downed tools suggests they might start pulling in the right direction with Rosenior gone.
An optimistic view is to say that the level of disarray Chelsea have put themselves in can’t be beneficial for this semi-final.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but that throws the cat amongst the pigeons.
