Arsenal have opened talks to sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder Arda Guler ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners significantly strengthened their squad in the previous summer transfer window, but there's an argument to suggest they need to bring in further additions in attack.
Arsenal are on course to win two trophies this season - the Champions League and Premier League - but both achievements are far from guaranteed.
If the north London club fall at the final hurdle again, we could see an overhaul of their squad as they finally look to win the Premier League under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal Open Arda Guler Talks

According to a report from Caught Offside, Arsenal have opened talks with the representatives of Real Madrid attacking midfielder Guler ahead of the summer transfer window.
“Arsenal have been in touch with those close to Arda Guler to see if there’s any scope for discussing a transfer this summer. At the moment, he’s not giving the green light. They have sounded out this deal again but the answer still seems very much the same – he’s happy where he is, and there’s no indication that the club are ready to sell."
The Gunners are looking to take advantage of the situation due to uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
Arsenal have reached out to those close to Guler to try to discover if he's keen on a move in the summer, but he's yet to give the green light.
It feels unlikely that Madrid will be willing to part ways, but the Gunners could be ready to make a big move.
Arsenal Ready to Pay £87m

According to reports, Arsenal were ready to pay £87m to sign Guler during the January transfer window.
The report claims that his future could lie away from Madrid ahead of the summer window, and he could become one of the hottest topics.
Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze have both struggled creatively this season, so adding a little more firepower in the attacking midfield position could be a smart move.
It would be an impressive signing if Arsenal can pull it off, with former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso suggesting that he 'will win the Ballon d'Or' one day.
