The possibility of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta getting sacked is becoming strong. After suffering a loss against their rival title contenders, Man City on Sunday, Arteta could be supposedly relieved of his duties. The hope of appointment of a new manager for the next season is highly increasing.
What is left for Arsenal in this season to salvage?
At one point of time, Arsenal were thought of chasing the most difficult “quadruple”. In the Premier League table, they are first since matchweek 1 and fans believed their 22 years title drought would come to an end. But their dreams have started to fade away.
First, they lost the EFL Cup final to Man City at Wembley. Then in the next match the London side got eliminated from the FA Cup by Southampton. Now they had to 2 trophies to fight for. Few weeks back, it felt that Arsenal would easily clinch the league title this year.
But on Sunday, Arsenal lost to Manchester City at Etihad by 2-1. Erling Haaland scored the goal which guaranteed the win for Pep Guardiola’s team. This led to a reduction in the point gap. Now the point difference is 3 which was once of 9 points.
Man City have a game in hand. Burnley is their next opponent and after defeating them, both the title challengers will be on 70 points. Arsenal’s grip over the EPL trophy has start to loosen. They also have to play Atletico Madrid in UCL semi final.

Who could be next boss at Arsenal?
As per reports, Arsenal and Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregas is a strong candidate to replace Arteta at Arsenal. If Arteta is sacked at the end of the season, Fabregas could be appointed for the next season. Cesc is currently at Como in Serie A where he is playing a fantastic football.
Primarily he took the job of coaching Como U-19. Then he was promoted to be the manager of the first team. He won promotion to Serie A with them and now they are fighting to get a spot in UCL or UEL.
Como president Mirwan Suwarso has responded positively to the rumours. He has accepted that Fabregas has the potential to manage big clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona or Chelsea. Mirwan said that it would be foolish of him to say that Cesc would not be coaching any big club.
He believes that the Spanish coach has bigger aspirations. The president hopes that Cesc would make good plans for the people who would replace him at Como. He gave his best wishes to Cesc to win in Italy as long as he is their manager.
