Manchester City climbed to the top of the Premier League table thanks to a narrow victory over Burnley. City claimed a 1-0 win over the Clarets at Turf Moor to climb above Arsenal in the table, in a result that also saw their opponents confirmed as relegated to the Championship.

Pep Guardiola’s side secured the victory thanks to an early first-half goal from Erling Haaland, which went on to be enough to secure the valuable three points for City.

City faced Burnley in the rearranged fixture thanks to their participation in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend, which will see them face Southampton at Wembley Stadium.

City now have just five Premier League matches left to play this season, which will see them face Everton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace before the end of the campaign, with the latter still needing to be rearranged.
