And that 3-0 defeat at Brighton led the Stamford Bridge club to sack Rosenior and replace him with former under-21s boss Calum McFarlane until the end of the campaign.
Days before an FA Cup semi-final with Leeds, Chelsea said in a statement: “This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly, however recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season.”

Erling Haaland’s early goal fired Manchester City to the top of the Premier League as a 1-0 win at Burnley sent the Clarets back down to the Championship.
Haaland struck just five minutes in at a subdued Turf Moor as City ended Arsenal’s 200-day reign at the top but only on goals scored.
Arsenal can return to the top of the pile when they host Newcastle on Saturday with City in FA Cup semi-final action against Southampton, but it is advantage to Pep Guardiola’s side, who have lost just one of their last 21 league games.
Burnley had chances of their own but were unable to trouble Gianluigi Donnarumma as their third relegation in their last three top-flight seasons was confirmed as their winless home league run hit 13 games.

Substitute Sean Longstaff volleyed a last-gasp equaliser as Leeds edged closer to Premier League safety by twice coming from behind to dent Bournemouth’s European push with a 2-2 draw.
Daniel Farke’s side moved on to 40 points – nine clear of the relegation zone – after Longstaff lashed home in the seventh minute of added time at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth were seconds away from climbing to sixth place in the table following an 86th-minute goal from Rayan after James Hill’s own goal cancelled out Junior Kroupi’s opener.

Bayern Munich are one win away from a domestic double after Harry Kane’s first-half goal inspired the newly crowned Bundesliga champions to a 2-0 DFB-Pokal semi-final victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Kane, who has scored in every round of the cup, put his side ahead in the 22nd minute at the BayArena and Luis Diaz wrapped up victory in stoppage time.
Vincent Kompany’s side, who have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, will face Stuttgart or Freiburg in the German Cup final.
