Report: The Chelsea dressing room are open to 45-year-old replacing Liam Rosenior

While the Chelsea board has shut the door on John Terry, it has been suggested that the players were more open to the idea.

Since transitioning to coaching, John Terry has honed his craft under Dean Smith at Aston Villa and within Chelsea’s own academy, earning plaudits for his growth and defensive organisation.

Despite his dream of managing the Chelsea first team, his exclusion from the recent interim setup stems from the board’s wariness about his lack of senior experience.

Liam Rosenior’s public criticism of his players’ unacceptable attitude after the Brighton defeat has ignited a dressing-room revolt, with senior figures seeing it as the tipping point.

However, the Chelsea owners have decided not to give the players what they are supposed to want.

Gary Neville says the Chelsea owners are CLUELESS! Do you agree? 🤔

John Terry is a favourite with the Chelsea players

According to the Daily Mail, someone close to John Terry has told them that he would have loved to work with Chelsea’s squad, and that the feeling might even be mutual inside the changing room.

The Chelsea owners aren’t big fans of Terry, with a separate Andy Jacobs claiming that the owners have told him he would never manage at the club.

“I’ve been told John Terry wanted to [take over until the end of the season], but they didn’t want him. And they told him in no uncertain terms that he will never, ever get the job.”

Who do YOU want to see replace Liam Rosenior now he is sacked?

The Chelsea owners don’t help themselves

The Chelsea ownership continues to alienate a fanbase that has reached its breaking point. By prioritising a data-led project over immediate stability, BlueCo has created a bad culture, evidenced by the sacking of Liam Rosenior just months after Enzo Maresca’s exit.

Fans, now protesting alongside RC Strasbourg supporters, see the board’s refusal to appoint established leaders as further proof of a disconnect from the club’s winning identity.

With record-breaking goal droughts and no clear contingency plan, the owners’ perceived arrogance and lack of accountability are fueling a historic crisis at Stamford Bridge.
