What Enzo Fernandez is planning this summer amid uncertainty about his future at Chelsea

Enzo Fernandez has been tipped to push to leave Chelsea this summer, which could see a ‘domino effect’ of the big players trying to get out of Stamford Bridge.

There have been doubts over Enzo Fernandez’s future after he has so far refused to sign a new contract in a similar way to how Moises Caicedo and Reece James have.

The most recent international break saw the Argentine add fuel to the fire over a potential move to Real Madrid in the future, leading to the Blues internally punishing him with a two-game suspension.

Enzo Fernandez expected to push for Chelsea exit this summer

Journalist Rob Dawson has tipped Fernandez to push to leave the club when the transfer window opens, and questions whether this could be the catalyst for some of their other star players to try and find another club.

He said to ‘The Football Reporters: “I don’t think they’re in a position where they have to sell, but they may well be in a position where one or more players, I think Enzo Fernandez is, from what I can tell, I think he’s likely to push to try and leave in the summer.

“If he goes, it could be a domino effect, and you could see two or three try to push their way out. Then it becomes a battle of this model. You know, well, they’re on these long-term contracts.

“Can they get out? How easy is it for these players to get out and force their way out? Is it going to be going on strike? Is it all that kind of thing? And, you know, how will it go from there?”

Chelsea have already put in the work to not make these issues too complicated for themselves by handing out long-term contracts to players, leaving the power with them when it comes to negotiations.

Fernandez saga played key role in Rosenior sacking

Chelsea are going to end the season without Liam Rosenior at the helm after the tough decision was made to sack him after just three months in charge.

The nightmare run of form has definitely played a part, however the Blues players were not particularly keen on how Rosenior handled the saga with Fernandez.

This played a key part in the club deciding to part ways with the manager, with it believed the relationship between the manager and the squad was beyond broken.

The new permanent manager will not be hired until the end of the season, and at this stage it remains to be seen whether he will have Fernandez as part of his matchday squad.
