Premier League Predictions: Essential Football vs Predicd

We’re back for another round of Premier League predictions – this time, we’ll be going against an AI service that is designed to predict football scores. Wish us luck!

Named Predicd, the service predicts football games from across the globe. This week, we’ll only be looking at seven games, rather than ten – six of the 20 teams in the Premier League won’t be partaking in this game week due to conflicting schedules.

As always with our Premier League predictions, it is five points for a correct result and ten points for a correct score.

Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest

Sunderland have a strong record at home, but this record has eroded somewhat towards the end of the season. Nottingham Forest have had a dreadful campaign – nevertheless, their last few results have been largely positive.

Forest need all the points they can get to avoid relegation. Sunderland are still in with a shout of finishing in the top six, but it looks unlikely given the teams ahead of them in the table.

The Black Cats have been leaky at the back recently, while Forest are in good goalscoring form – we’ll back Forest to pick up an away win here.

EF’s Prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Nottingham Forest

Predicd’s Prediction: Sunderland 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Fulham vs Aston Villa

Fulham fans will be relieved to hear that Alex Iwobi’s hamstring injury isn’t as serious as it looked. Without him, the Cottagers lack creativity going forwards.

On the face of it, this looks like a comfortable win for Aston Villa, but one must remember how strong Fulham have been at home this season. They have won over half of their home games, but they will be hard-pressed to win this one.

Aston Villa are looking to cement their place in the top four. With a big win over Sunderland last time out, we definitely make them the favourites to win this one.

EF’s Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa

Predicd’s Prediction: Fulham 2-2 Aston Villa

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

After a turbulent season, Liverpool are finally showing signs of steadying the ship. They have won their last two Premier League games, including a dramatic victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s season – at least, domestically – appears to be over. Mathematically, they can still finish inside the top six, but it’s highly unlikely that they will do so.

The Eagles’ attention will likely be directed towards their Europa Conference League campaign – as such, this should open the door for Liverpool to pick up a comfortable home win.

EF’s Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Crystal Palace

Predicd’s Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace

West Ham United vs Everton

West Ham are in need of points. They cannot afford to lose this game – the pressure is all on the Hammers. Unfortunately, Everton are a very strong away team.

Not only do West Ham have issues in front of goal, they can also by very leaky at the back. Likewise, Everton are also known for showing profligacy in front of goal, but have been relatively tight at the back.

Normally, we’d be forecasting an Everton win for this one. However, given West Ham’s current predicament, we’re expecting them to control the action. Nevertheless, a point is all we think they’ll get.

EF’s Prediction: West Ham United 1-1 Everton

Predicd’s Prediction: West Ham United 2-1 Everton

Wolves vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham fans from across he globe will be biting their nails all the way down to the knuckle in preparation for this game. Honestly, we don’t think they have too much to worry about.

In their last couple of games, Wolves appear to have given up the ghost. They lost 4-0 to West Ham and 3-0 to Leeds United – Spurs, meanwhile, looked like a much-improved outfit against Brighton.

Roberto De Zerbi knows he must work quickly, but his efforts are already seeming to pay off. We’re expecting a big win for Tottenham in this one.

EF’s Prediction: Wolves 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Predicd’s Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
