Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after scans confirmed a suspected meniscus injury. Gruev will play no more part in the campaign, with Daniel Farke describing it as "not ideal for us," however, the player is expected to be fit for the start of pre-season training in the summer.

It means no Wembley appearance for the Bulgarian, but Jayden Bogle is winning his battle to play. The right-back was taken off at half-time in midweek at Bournemouth after getting a kick to the foot, but is expected to be in contention to feature against Chelsea on Sunday.

Leeds have two more training sessions before their FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley, with Farke likely to only be missing Gruev from the squad that went to Bournemouth.

"Sadly with Ilia Gruev his meniscus injury has been confirmed," explained Farke. "It will definitely keep him out for the whole season so he won't be able to help us for the run in. We expect to have him back for pre-season and probably for the start of pre-season. We all feel for him and it is not ideal for us.

"Jayden Bogle got a hit against his foot. It doesn't seem to be too bad and we have to wait now to see how quickly he can recover, but I hope to have him available for the game on Sunday."

Sebastiaan Bornauw is also a doubt for the Cup semi-final, but like Bogle is winning his fitness race. On the centre-back, Farke added; "During the warm-up he rolled his ankle. Yesterday it was pretty sore and today he wasn't able to join us in team training but it doesn't seem there's ligament damage.

"We hope to have him back in team training tomorrow and if he is back in training he will also be available."
