How Chelsea feel about Eddie Howe - journalist

Eddie Howe might be under pressure at Newcastle United – but reportedly has admirers at a major Premier League club in the form of Chelsea.

Clearly, there is little doubt that Howe has a brilliant track record. He’s made history at Bournemouth and Newcastle United, although that does not give him a free pass forever.

Pretend you’re in charge – WHO are you appointing next?! 🤔

Also, feel free to name someone not pictured! (I'd love Xabi Alonso)

Indeed, it’s easy to see why supporters are frustrated about things right now, but Howe’s pedigree isn’t in doubt.

As such, there are figures down in south west London who admire what he’s done over the course of his career.

Chelsea figures admire Howe

Howe has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are on the lookout for a new manager once again following the sacking of Liam Rosenior.

When addressing potential replacements for the departed Blues boss, journalist Ben Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT that Howe had admirers at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “Eddie Howe could be an interesting name. Again, to stress, I’m not aware that there’s been any approach to any of these names.

All opinions welcome but I would LOVE to know how you think Howe can turn this around….

“Yet Howe has people who appreciate him within the Chelsea hierarchy and his position as it stands at Newcastle will be debated at the end of the season.”

It’s important to stress that Jacobs is not saying that Chelsea will move for Howe, just that there is an admiration for him, as well as historical links between the two parties.

There is no suggestion that Newcastle will change their manager right now even despite a miserable run of form.

At this stage, Howe is expected to be in charge of Newcastle next season.

Howe has been linked with several big jobs since taking over at Newcastle, including Manchester United and England.

Though his stock is currently dropping amid Newcastle’s wider malaise, it’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which the 48-year-old would struggle for work.

Howe is among the best English managers in the game right now and has a proven track record in taking teams to the next level.

Things have gone stale at Newcastle but that does not mean he’s a poor manager all of a sudden.

It’s easy to see why Chelsea would admire him, but it doesn’t seem as if he will be leaving Newcastle any time soon unless things get worse from here.
