What Estevao Willian is trying to convince Chelsea to do after hamstring injury - journalist

When it rains, it pours, and that has been the case for Chelsea and Estevao Willian.

Chelsea have been in awful form, which has coincided with the serious hamstring injury Estevao Willian picked up against Manchester United.

To add to all of that, Liam Rosenior has now been sacked as manager, so it is all happening at Chelsea at this moment in time.

Estevao Willian hoping Chelsea will allow him to receive treatment in Brazil

All in all, it has been a disastrous campaign for the Blues, so the club’s players will be looking forward to the summer, especially with the World Cup coming up.

Unfortunately, Estevao’s participation at the tournament is now in doubt following his hamstring injury, but the winger is not giving up on his dream.

Journalist Cahe Mota has revealed on X that Estevao is trying to convince Chelsea to let him return to Brazil.

There, the 18-year-old is hoping to receive treatment, rather than undergo surgery. The latter is thought to be the course of action that Chelsea want to take.

Estevao evidently knew that his hopes of playing in the World Cup were in danger after he sustained his hamstring injury.

At half-time in the United game, Estevao was crying in the dressing room.

Why Estevao Willian should be ready to bite the bullet and miss the World Cup

To play at the World Cup with the Selecao is every Brazilian boy’s dream. It is no surprise that Estevao is willing to do whatever it takes to make Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the summer.

However, it is not worth the risk. Estevao is still only 18. He could miss this World Cup and easily play in another three in the future before retiring.

Aggravating what is already a serious injury seems totally unnecessary given how young he is. It would come as bad news, but Chelsea have to overrule the Brazil international here and advise him to go under the knife.
