Mikel Arteta will provide an injury update on Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber this afternoon ahead of Arsenal's match at home to Newcastle.
With Manchester City in FA Cup action, Arsenal have the chance to go three points clear at the top of the Premier League with victory on Saturday evening.
Saka has been battling an Achilles injury and has not featured since the Carabao Cup final.
It was hoped that he would be able to step up his recovery this week, but even if he is available again it is unlikely he will come straight back into the starting lineup.
Timber has been closing to returning from a groin injury and could potentially make the squad to face the Magpies if he has continued to progress.
Arteta must decide to stick with the attacking formula that was largely a success against Man City last weekend, even if the Gunners were poor at converting their chances.
That would mean Kai Havertz again leading the line over Viktor Gyokeres, and Eberechi Eze off the left wing.
Martin Odegaard returned from a knee injury at the Etihad and should continue at No10 after a clear midweek.
Arteta will give the latest Arsenal team news when he sits down for his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Odegaard, Eze; Havertz
