He said on his TikTok: “Who’s going to want to go in there? Frank Lampard, an ex-Chelsea player, was manager for a period of time. Got Coventry City up. Are they looking at someone like him? Would he even want to jump into that? Given he’s done so well at Coventry.

“Another ex-player, Cesc Fabregas. I mean, Cesc Fabregas is the name that jumped off the page to me immediately, but is he going to leave that project? I think he’s got shares in the club there at Como as well.”

Como currently sit fifth in Serie A, falling out of the top four and automatic Champions League qualification after losing their last two games.

Having played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona, there are a number of massive clubs which could host a reunion for the Spaniard.

At this stage though, Fabregas has no desire to take over at Stamford Bridge. He is still in the very early stages of his career.

Chelsea are also reportedly looking at hiring a manager who has Premier League experience under their belt already.

Andoni Iraola is a popular choice internally at the club, with Marco Silva and Eddie Howe amongst those who have been mentioned.
