April 24 – FC Barcelona have extended their partnership with WhiteBIT through to 2030, keeping the platform on board as a global partner and the club’s official cryptocurrency exchange.
The renewal continues a relationship that began in 2022 and reflects Barcelona’s ongoing push into digital and tech-led partnerships, particularly those tied to fan engagement and new revenue streams. WhiteBIT will retain branding rights across the men’s and women’s football teams, as well as the club’s basketball side and the Barça Innovation Hub.
While crypto partnerships across football have cooled somewhat across the football world, Barcelona’s approach has been to position these deals within a broader digital strategy – built around long-term touchpoints with a global audience.
The marketing focus, according to a club release, will be on initiatives that connect cryptocurrency products more directly with supporters, including fan engagement formats, digital education and interactive experiences.
Manel del Río, corporate director at FC Barcelona, said: “Continuing to count on WhiteBIT as a partner over the next five years reinforces FC Barcelona’s commitment to strategic alliances with globally leading companies. This renewal highlights the strength and appeal of our brand, as well as our ability to connect with innovative sectors. In this case, the cryptocurrency sector, a growing field with significant strategic potential for the coming years.”
Volodymyr Nosov, founder of W Group, which includes WhiteBIT, said: “Our mission is to support the mass adoption of crypto by bringing technology to everyone, everywhere. Together with Barça, we are taking crypto beyond the industry and into everyday life – creating experiences that millions of fans can actually use. This is how adoption happens.”
