Rogers open to playing abroad as Euro giants enter race with Arsenal and Man United

Morgan Rogers has significant Premier League and European transfer interest.

Rogers, who talkSPORT previously reported is likely to leave in the summer even if Aston Villa qualify for the Champions League, is just as open to going abroad as staying in England.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea as the most genuine suitors for the 23-year-old.

Rogers scored against PSG in Aston Villa's 3-1 loss at the Parc des Princes last season in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg and is understood to have been impressed by the atmosphere.

Sources have told talkSPORT Rogers is not ruling out a move away from England and is an admirer of PSG coach Luis Enrique.

PSG are still deciding whether to proceed this summer with a new winger or No.10 given Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia are not for sale, and Bradley Barcola is also a player the French champions intend to keep.

PSG could instead be tempted to prioritise a striker, but Rogers is a player they are tracking strongly as well.

Rogers, who is comfortable as a No.10 or left-winger, is likely to be available this summer for at least £80m, and that number could rise if a bidding war materialises for his signature.

Villa won't unduly stand in Rogers’ way. He has an excellent relationship with both manager Unai Emery and Villa's hierarchy leading to a one-year extension last summer.

The fact that Rogers is still well contracted until 2031 leaves Villa in a strong position.

Yet all parties are open to parting ways even if Villa get Champions League football for next season. This is in part because a Rogers sale will help Aston Villa balance their books, and with that in mind a transfer is not discounted before the World Cup.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are all also serious about Rogers.

The former two clubs are in the market for a starting left-winger, while Chelsea want to add another creative midfielder. This could become a more urgent priority if Enzo Fernandez is sold this summer, with Manchester City recently linked with the World Cup winner.

Rogers is well-known to Jason Wilcox, since the Manchester United sporting director played a role in his development at City. Meanwhile, Michael Carrick was manager at Middlesbrough when Rogers was signed.

Arsenal are expected to part ways with Gabriel Martinelli and/or Leandro Trossard this summer freeing up squad and wage space to bring in a new winger.

The Gunners are also considering Newcastle's Anthony Gordon and Kvaratskhelia. The former is a Bayern target, while PSG don't want to engage offers for the Georgia winger making him a difficult signing to pull off.

Liverpool also appreciate Rogers but are not currently as active as other suitors.

Arne Slot's side are prioritising a right-winger to replace the departing Mo Salah, while Yan Diomande is a contender to fill the void left by Luis Diaz, who departed for Bayern this summer.

PSG are also looking at the Leipzig winger, who could yet sign a new deal and stay for an extra year.

Bayern have also been linked with a move for Rogers but the German club are more focused on Gordon as it stands, although it remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga champions can match Newcastle's valuation.

With Diaz and Michael Olise both in form, any new winger faces a battle for immediate game time.

Rogers has been an integral part of Villa's superb season making 48 appearances in all competitions.

He has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists with fourth-placed Villa firmly on course to qualify for the Champions League via the Premier League and with a Europa League semi-final against Nottingham Forest to look forward to.

Rogers' focus is on finishing the season strongly, and with silverware, ahead of the World Cup.

He has never agitated for a move away and yet he is still set to be one of the highest-profile transfers of the summer window.
