“Greedy” – Daniel Farke assesses Chelsea squad as Leeds United face FA Cup clash

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is wary of a bounce from the Chelsea squad this week after their dismal performances got Liam Rosenior sacked, before the FA Cup semi-final.

The FA Cup semi-final awaits for Leeds this Sunday as Daniel Farke turns our focus away from reaching 40 points in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Our mood could not be in a better place as we head down to the capital over the weekend. Over at Chelsea, turmoil reigns.

“Unacceptable” – Chelsea sack Liam Rosenior with squad coming under immense scrutiny

24 hours before our stunning 2-2 draw away to Bournemouth, Chelsea’s preparations for the FA Cup semi-final could not have gone worse.

Their rearranged fixture away to Brighton saw them battered 3-0 with one of the worst performances in Chelsea’s recent memory. After the game, then-manager Liam Rosenior didn’t hold back, branding the performance “unacceptable in every aspect”.

He was right, the players have phoned it in since his appointment. However, the manager has proven the fall guy with a statement confirming his sacking on Wednesday.

Calum McFarlane takes charge ahead of the semi-final on Sunday.

Daniel Farke reacts to Liam Rosenior sacking with assessment of Chelsea squad before Leeds United clash

Farke will not spend too much time dwelling on the impacts of Chelsea sacking Rosenior, but he was asked about it during his pre-match press conference.

The Leeds boss doesn’t believe that it will make too much of a difference on the Blues. Farke claims the quality ought to shine through regardless.

“I make my own business and don’t take decisions for other clubs, you feel for him, really good manager and human being,” Farke told the press, via the YEP. “You forget it is more or less his second season in English football pretty sure. I am sure he will have a big career, he will take this experience and grow, we take it as it is.

“If someone overtakes it doesn’t make it easier, it can be tricky as it’s like a fresh start, I mention the quality of the Chelsea players. I expect a Chelsea side who will be back to their best with a fresh start and expect them back to their best free-flow football.

“A side who is a favourite but we have shown before we are capable to deliver performances, we are greedy also to be successful in this game.”

Chelsea expected to bounce back ahead of Leeds United’s FA Cup semi-final

If these Chelsea players cannot turn up for an FA Cup semi-final, they should have their contracts terminated.

However, the fact this is even a discussion right now is good news for us. We’re feeling so confident with our form at the moment, and Chelsea are in their worst form for over a century.

Of course, they could turn a corner this weekend and Farke is well aware that’s probable. That being said, we’ve got to fancy our chances here.
