Chelsea are still feeling the effects of letting Rio Ngumoha leave the club before reaching the first team squad, however new target Konstantinos Karetsas could be even better than him.
Rio Ngumoha is currently making waves for the Liverpool first team, after he believed there wasn’t a clear pathway for him to make it at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have been keen to not make a similar mistake again, and have already signed Ryan Kavuma-McQueen to a senior contract to not see him depart for a minimal fee.

Chelsea keen on signing Konstantinos Karetsas
There is currently no ambition for the club to completely give up on bringing in young players. A deal has already reportedly been agreed for Valentin Barco to join from Strasbourg.
TeamTalk have reported that Chelsea are keen on signing Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk, looking to beat a number of Premier League sides to the deal.

Despite only scoring three goals in all competitions this season, the young Greece international has put up a staggering 18 assists so far.
This is very similar to the numbers of Kevin de Bruyne at the same club before he secured his own move to Chelsea.
While many supporters want the Blues to alter their strategy, they will no doubt still be keen to beat their rivals to some of the most promising young talents in the game.

Karetsas tipped for more than Ngumoha
Chelsea have built their transfer policy around signing the top young players in world football, with Estevao Willian and Geovany Quenda the highlight additions.
Both of those two rank high on Goal’s NXGN list of promising youngsters, which also includes Karetsas and Ngumoha both featuring.
The Chelsea transfer target ranks higher than Ngumoha, suggesting some in the game believe he has a higher ceiling than the Liverpool wonderkid.
The negative side of the Ngumoha situation is what effect it may have on the rest of the academy, Shumaira Mheuka reportedly not seeing a future for himself in the first team.
