Liam Rosenior hits back at'petulant children'he had to manage at Chelsea

Liam Rosenior’s departure from Chelsea has exposed a fractured dressing room, with the former head coach warning the board about a squad of petulant children.

The environment at Chelsea under Liam Rosenior reached a boiling point as the manager struggled to maintain authority over an increasingly fractured squad.

It’s the absence of leadership that was a major concern, with the few senior figures failing to bridge the gap between the coaching staff and a young group.

The tension became personal when Trevoh Chalobah disagreed with Liam Rosenior. While Rosenior felt the players lacked the necessary fighting spirit, the squad viewed his methods as unsuitable.

However, Rosenior had a thing or two to tell the ownership about the players before he left.

Liam Rosenior claims Chelsea have ‘petulant children’

Journalist MaxFSport has claimed that some of Rosenior’s feedback and advice on the current squad was to sign more ‘men’. He believed that, apart from a select few players, not many would actually ‘stand up and fight’ when the tide got tough.

The few senior players Chelsea do have were also understood to be ‘too quiet’.

A few squad members were also understood to have the behaviour of ‘petulant children’ when they were not picked or something did not go their way.

Who could be the petulant children?

While Rosenior didn’t name names, the petulant label likely points toward high-profile players like Enzo Fernandez who spoke out about his situation several times. And his strange gesture after the Brighton game only added to it, standing and staring at the away fans without saying a thing.

Alejandro Garnacho has been known for his attitude at Manchester United, and he’s not exactly set the world alight at Chelsea, so perhaps he could be another.

Outside of that, one of the only other players who spoke out was Marc Cucurella.
