8-minute highlights: Brighton 3-2 City

The best of the action from a slender Barclays Women's Super League defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

City were edged out at Broadfield Stadium to fall to just our third defeat of the WSL season.

Kerolin had handed the Blues a deserved early lead with a deflected effort, and Andrée Jeglertz’s side went close to extending our advantage before the break.

Aoba Fujino could’ve even given City the lead inside 20 seconds after a mix-up at the back from the hosts, before Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw struck the post with an effort back across goal.

Kerolin also went close to doubling our advantage but was denied by Chiamaka Nnadozie, with Madison Haley firing the hosts level in first half stoppage time after a well-worked move soon after.

Brighton then took the lead two minutes after the restart through Kiko Seike, and Haley added a second when she bundled a loose ball over the line just after the hour.

City continued to press for a route back into the game, with Shaw finding the net late on to give the Blues hope, but it was to no avail.

Despite the setback, we remain in control of the WSL title race heading into the final two matches of the season.
