Erling Haaland has blossomed into one of the world's greatest football stars of this generation.
Hailed as the best pure striker in world football, the Manchester City superstar has routinely placed himself at or near the summit of top goalscoring lists across multiple competitions.
Winning the Premier League's Golden Boot award for top scorer twice already by the age of 25, there seem to be much more silverware to come for the Norwegian international who has already secured two Premier League titles and one Champions League crown since joining Man City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.

Erling Haaland's father

Erling Haaland's father is former football star Alf-Inge Haaland.
His father's football career had a massive influence on Erling, not just in terms of replication. It was the time Alf-Inge, or "Alfie" as he's known casually, spent at Manchester City which not only shaped Erling's career, but started it.
After Alfie began his career with four years at Norwegian club Byrne and then moved to Nottingham Forest for four seasons, Erling was born in Leeds while Alfie was playing for the Premier League club. He then spent his formative years in Manchester after Alfie transferred to Manchester City in 2000.
Alfie retired in 2003 on medical advice having struggled to recover from knee injuries, problems that were compounded by a dreadful and controversial red-card challenge from Roy Keane in a 2001 Manchester derby. He returned to play lower-league football in his native Bryne eight years later before retiring for good in 2013.
He made 34 appearances for the Norway international team and played at the 1994 World Cup.
After having three children with his first wife Gry Marita Braut, the two divorced and Alfie remarried with Anita Stromsvol, with whom he's had two daughters.
While he is Erling Haaland's father first and foremost, Alfie has also worked closely with the City star's agent to help negotiate contracts and seek out the star striker's career pathway. Erling was officially contracted to superagent Mino Raiola before his death, and is now among Rafaela Pimenta's clientele. But Alfie has also has had "a hand in every facet of his son’s interests on and off the pitch from day one", as per The Athletic. Alfie was most active in his son's career in the early days, brokering the striker's deal with Raiola during his teenage years following a meeting in Monaco.

Erling Haaland's long-time girlfriend is Isabel Haugseng Johansen.
While they have remained private about their relationship, it is believed that the two met while both were at the youth academy of Haaland's boyhood Norwegian club Byrne, where both played as young footballers.
Johansen debuted for Byrke FK's women's team at just 13 years old. Haaland said back in late 2025 that Isabel made the first move in the early stages of their relationship.
In late 2024, the couple had their first child, a son. They have not publicly revealed the baby's name, only referred to in various reports and other references as "Little Erling."
The pair enjoys cooking together. Haaland has also said that he enjoys playing Minecraft with his girlfriend.

Erling Haaland was born to Alfie Haaland's first wife Gry Marita Braut, the youngest of the pair's three children. Erling's older siblings include his older sister Gabrielle and his older brother Astor.
His mother was an elite athlete herself, specifically a track and field star, becoming Norwegian heptathlon champion in the 1990's.
In Norway, naming patterns make it customary to carry both the mother and father's names, which is why the Man City star's full name is officially "Erling Braut Haaland."
