Chelsea are on the lookout for a new permanent manager after sacking Liam Rosenior, although Porto boss Francesco Farioli is not currently interested in taking the role.
The Blues are set to hand Calum McFarlane the reins for the rest of the season, allowing them a significant period of time to find the best possible option to become the new permanent boss.
The ownership will require a candidate who can instantly gain the respect of the players after some were accused of downing tools towards the end of Rosenior’s time in charge.

One candidate who would likely have fit this bill is Francesco Farioli. He has gained the trust and respect of club legend Thiago Silva since he joined Porto over the winter.
Farioli is on track to win the league in Portugal despite Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten campaign at Benfica, and it looks as if he is more than happy with that challenge.

According to A Bola, the Italian is not interested in taking over at Chelsea, believing his ongoing project in Portugal is more important.
Porto could go within a point of winning the league this weekend if they pick up three points, and his desire to stay there is perhaps a reality check for the Blues when it comes to talking about who their next manager is going to be.

Chelsea chiefs are reportedly targeting a manager with Premier League experience after two consecutive hirings where they had never coached in the league before.
Behdad Eghbali wants Andoni Iraola to become the next manager, with him set to leave his role as Bournemouth boss at the end of the season.
Marco Silva and Eddie Howe are other Premier League managers who have been mentioned as potential targets. Silva’s Fulham are currently level on points with Chelsea.
Despite supporters leaning into the narrative of bringing Cesc Fabregas back to the club, although he does not appear to be interested in the role at this stage.
