FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 26 April, including the latest updates on Mohamed Salah, Julian Brandt and Carlos Baleba.

Rangers "discuss" Salah deal

Rangers "have" discussed the potential signing of Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah, club consultant Stig Inge Bjornebye has claimed.

The Egypt international will leave the Reds on a free transfer this summer after deciding to end his trophy-laden nine-year spell at the club. Salah reached an agreement with the Anfield outfit to terminate his contract, which was due to run until 2027.

"I don’t know what Mo’s plans are - we discussed it at work today as well, as I’m an advisor to Rangers," Bjornebye said on an Egyptian TV channel. "We discussed where he’ll go and so on. But I think most people are grateful for what he’s done for Liverpool."

Meanwhile, The Athletic reports that if Salah were to move to Major League Soccer this summer, his "most likely destination" would be San Diego FC, despite previously downplaying their interest in the veteran attacker.

Arsenal to make "aggressive" Brandt offer

Premier League clubs are preparing "the most aggressive offers" for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt, as per fussballdaten.

The former Germany international will leave the Bundesliga club on a free transfer this summer and is believed to be keen on a move abroad. Brandt, who is learning Spanish because of his Catalan girlfriend, is fielding interest from various countries.

The report claims that Aston Villa and Newcastle are showing a strong interest, while TEAMtalk adds that Arsenal are also exploring a deal for the attacking midfielder.

Atleti open Gomes talks

Atletico Madrid have opened talks to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, Ben Jacobs reports.

The LaLiga giants have shifted their focus to the Brazil international after failing to strike a deal with Atalanta for compatriot Ederson, despite agreeing terms with the player.

This is good news for Arsenal and Man Utd, though the latter are also interested in Gomes. Both clubs are "tracking" Ederson and could now make a move for him.

Baleba price revealed

Brighton have laughed off suggestions that Man Utd could sign Carlos Baleba for less than €60 million, TEAMtalk states.

It was reported earlier this week that the Red Devils would be unwilling to pay big money for Baleba in light of his disappointing season, but sources close to Brighton insist that he won't be sold for a fee below €80m.

It is added that Man Utd sources have dismissed claims of a deal between the Red Devils and the player. Talks between the two parties continue despite reports of a verbal agreement.

Silva offered around

Superagent Jorge Mendes has offered Man City captain Bernardo Silva to Barcelona and Real Madrid, according to AS.

The Portugal international will leave the Etihad club when his contract expires this summer after not being offered an extension. Silva is believed to be keen to keep playing at a high European level and is not receptive to interest from MLS, The Athletic reports.

Consequently, Mendes has put Silva's name forward during discussions with Barcelona and Real Madrid, but neither club appears interested in signing him. Barca have a long-standing appreciation of the player, but Fabrizio Romano recently stated that a deal is no longer an option.
